Exploring our passion

Linda Cheng is a self-taught artist who currently lives on the Upper East Side with her family. She discovered the joy of drawing and painting during the lockdowns of 2020, which helped her appreciate the hidden delights of life. Her style of pen sketches was inspired by the etchings of the Dutch masters. Unlike other artists who devote much time to depicting prominent landmarks, Linda focuses on discovering the hidden beauty of New York that are easily overlooked. Things that excite her include buildings with elegantly designed façade, from the art-nouveau arches and sculptures to beautifully arranged pre-war brickworks to breathtakingly ornate ironworks of gates and fire escapes. Such details are often associated with people’s subconscious memories. Each time Linda takes a deep dive into a new subject, she feels as though she is walking down a memory lane, leading her to the endless tales and stories behind these bricks.
